#45 Blueberry Hill, Sunday

June 7th, 2009 (04:00 pm)

Piper was, once again, at home with the baby. She didn't have anything else to do, but she was very much okay with just staying home to be a mom for a little while.

She sat on the couch and smiled down at Matthew, grateful that Meg trusted her to be his mother.

[open! also? I will try to put baby posts up only once a week from now on. ;)]

#45 Blueberry Hill, Tuesday

June 2nd, 2009 (02:14 pm)

After saying goodbye to Paige, Piper returned home to Matthew and thanked his aunt Veronica for taking such good care of him.

Maybe later, she would start taking pictures of him to send to Paige.

[open to family, friends, visitors, etc.]

#45 Blueberry Hill, Thursday

May 28th, 2009 (02:38 pm)

Piper had considered asking her mother or Veronica or someone to watch Matthew while she went into work for a few hours. She hadn't really left the house since she brought him home and figured she could go in a few hours a week. But as she picked the phone up to call someone to watch him, he started to cry.

That's when her plans changed. She just could not leave him yet. Not this soon. The restaurant would just have to survive without her for awhile.

#45 Blueberry Hill, Monday

May 25th, 2009 (12:42 pm)

Piper knew there was a picnic going on in town today, but she opted to stay home with Matthew. Even though he was home now, he was still a preemie which meant he needed extra care and attention. With that came extra worry and concern. She really wasn't ready to leave him, yet. It would be awhile before she could bring him out to meet people at town functions.

She wasn't complaining, though. She didn't mind taking care of him and being responsible for a him. That's why she stood in the doorway of the nursery, just watching him sleep.

[establishy, but it is certainly open!]

#45 Blueberry Hill, Friday

May 22nd, 2009 (03:24 pm)

After nearly three weeks in the NICU, Piper finally got to bring Matthew home. He was still so tiny, but he was a lot stronger.

She knew there were likely to be many more sleepless nights in her future, but right now, she sat in the rocking chair by his crib in the nursery. She held him, deciding she wasn't going to let him go for a long while.

[establishy, but can be open to family and friends if they re so inclined]

Clinic, Monday

May 18th, 2009 (02:44 pm)

Piper was pleasantly surprised when she had arrived at the clinic today. The nurses told her Matthew was doing well enough that she could hold him for a few minutes. She could feel tears of joy forming as one of the nurses gently took him out of the incubator and placed him into her arms. This was definite proof that he was going to be fine.

She looked down at him and smiled, wanting to tell him he was loved and protected. Instead, she felt the urge to sing.

Even though Piper was full of joy and relief, she also recognized that something wasn't quite right. She shook her head and had to laugh a little. Looking down once more at Matthew, she said, "Welcome to Milieux. I promise you'll get used to it."

[establishy, but can be open!]

Clinic, Tuesday

May 12th, 2009 (12:40 pm)

Piper was, yet again, at the clinic. She was tired and cranky from the hangover she was currently dealing with. Maybe drowning her sorrows last night was not the best plan, especially when she was caught by a former student. Oops.

She was just so stressed. But seeing baby Matthew made things a little better. He was the main reason she hadn't completely fallen apart.

[once again, open to visitors]

The Coven, Late Monday

May 11th, 2009 (05:04 pm)

When Piper left the clinic this time, she decided late evening after closing seemed like an appropriate time to check on the restaurant. Or maybe she decided she deserved a drink after this whole crazy emotional week. Yeah, that definitely seemed like a good plan. She was stressed and tired.

[mostly establishy, but open if anyone would be around that late]

Clinic, Friday

May 8th, 2009 (01:22 pm)

Piper was at the clinic again today like she had been everyday since Matthew was born.

"Hi Matthew," she said in a quiet, soothing voice. She gently touched his tiny hand. "It's Mommy again. I'm always gonna be here."

She looked down at him, wishing so much she could just pick him up and hold him.

[open]

Clinic, Tuesday

May 5th, 2009 (01:10 pm)

It was another day the baby, Matthew, was in the NICU. So it was another day Piper was there with him.

[open to visitors; and I won't be putting up a post everyday for the next few weeks, just sporadically from now on. :)]

Clinic, Monday

May 4th, 2009 (12:58 pm)

The baby was still in NICU and likely would be for a few more weeks. Piper was going to be there everyday until he was allowed to go home.

He was still nameless at the moment. She was going to have to do something about that soon.

[open for visitors]

Clinic, Sunday

May 3rd, 2009 (01:38 pm)

Piper hadn't left the clinic in a long time. Well, there had been those few hours she went home to shower and rest. Or at least she tried to rest. She was too worried and ended up returning. When she did sometime in the early afternoon, she was relieved to find out that Meg had been discharged. Relief because it meant she was going to be okay.

She knew the baby would be, too. She was feeling a lot of different emotions, including joy for the baby, sadness over the loss of a friend and for those who were hurting so badly right now, worry. The list went on. She was going to keep it together, though. The baby deserved that from his mother right now.

He still needed a name...

[open to anyone she would have called; it's the only clinic room being used now, so I think it's just easier to post here]

#45 Blueberry Hill, Sunday

April 26th, 2009 (01:46 pm)
busy

current mood: busy

Piper was now living in her new home. She had handwavily moved in the day before. She didn't really have much to move. Just the belongings she had kept in her room, some of the magical artifacts she kept in the attic (including the Book of Shadows), and some of the kitchen supplies, at least those that belonged to her. The home was already mostly furnished, except for two of the three bedrooms.

One of them was going to be turned into the nursery for the baby. She had ordered a bunch of baby furniture that would arrive sometime during the week. Which meant she needed to get the room painted before then. Piper decided today was as good as any to start that project. That would explain why she was currently attempting to cover the walls with yellow paint.

thoughtful

current mood: thoughtful

As Piper sat outside on the front steps, she was eying one of the houses across the street. She had been thinking about getting her own place. She was going to need that extra room after all, especially now that the adoption was close to being finalized.

It was at that moment she noticed sheep randomly walking down the street. One of them actually wandered over to her. Even more strange? She recognized that sheep.

"Delores?" Piper couldn't help smiling at the familiar animal, though it was somewhat somber. Delores made her think of Mack, who was still missed.

"You're far from home," she said quietly, petting her. "Just here for a visit, huh?"

This wasn't exactly unwelcome town weirdness.

[totally open]

#42 Blueberry Hill, Monday Afternoon

March 30th, 2009 (01:12 pm)

Piper had been doing a lot of thinking over the last few days. A lot. All that thinking had led her to a decision, and she was ready to talk to Meg and Sam about that. So she invited them over to the house.

Now, she just waited. Nervously.

[for the two mentioned in the post]

#42 Blueberry Hill, Wednesday Afternoon

March 4th, 2009 (03:26 pm)
calm

current mood: calm

Piper had gotten a handwavey phone call from Meg last night asking if she could come over for some girl talk. She was a little surprised by that, but she did tell Meg awhile ago that she was welcome here anytime if she needed to talk. That offer was still very much valid. So she made some tea, decaf, of course, and waited for her guest to arrive.

[for Meg, but can be open after]

#42 Blueberry Hill, Sunday

January 25th, 2009 (04:32 pm)
apathetic

current mood: apathetic

Today was Piper's birthday, and she meant it when she said she wasn't going to make a big deal out of it. But it was her day, so she wasn't going to do any work today. No looking over paperwork for the restaurant, no cooking, no cleaning. She was just going to relax and try very hard not to think about anything distressing.

Maybe she could have made an appointment to go to the spa, at least. Probably would be less boring.

[open if anyone wants to stop by]

#42 Blueberry Hill, Friday Evening

January 9th, 2009 (07:46 pm)
relaxed

current mood: relaxed

Piper was sitting on the couch with her laptop, a cup of tea sitting on the table nearby. A certain wedding was coming up soon and she had been given the task of baking the cake. She still had some time to get this done, but she figured it couldn't hurt to google some wedding cakes for some ideas. It wasn't too early for that. Also, there was the whole distraction thing it provided.

[posted mostly because I'm bored; also, open to housemates or anyone who has reason to stop by]
